Oops! My finger slipped!

Now onto something a little less close to home. Yep, getaway time again! In a minute. You remember I said I needed a new album, it arrived today. I 'accidentally' ordered some Jillibean stamps and Cosmo Cricket tiny letters too ^_^ oops! Even undecorated it's so strokable! Piccies to follow tomorrow :D Planning a play with the April Go-Go kit methinks! Even better, the box I use to store my thickers and alphas in is almost unable to close. So the box the album came in will be said replacement! Waste not, want not :D

Right, now the moment you've all been waiting for. More Getaway goodies!

What I'm going to show you today was possibly my FAVOURITE class EVER! Helen Miles' check out her blog! She's fab, and let me play with glitter, paint and flock :D:D:D Any one who knows me kows I'm a devil for inky, sticky, gloopy things! Hence the blog name 'Inky Paws'!

I had sooooo much fun doing this. It was unreal :D It's funny, I got lucky with my photo's for all the LO's over the weekend. They all just worked! This pic was taken on New Year 2009 with a camera phone in a club, its gritty, discoloured and WORKS. I avoid photoshopping things if I can, make the best of the pics you've got... including the one of The Boy making a rude gesture to cover his face... which WILL be scrapped. Much to his disgust!

Thanks for looking!

Blog hopping and inspiration

The other weekend Rebekah did a blog hop to celebrate her birthday, her LO for this was stunning, but it also inspired me to scrap a page about my Dad which quickly became a tribute to lost family members too. I've shown you the front, but here's the completed page. I'm really proud of it :)

The inside left is a picture of me at a couple of months with my paternal grandfather, he passed away December 08. The right is a photo of me at a few weeks with my maternal grandparents. My Mormor has dementia and Morfar passed away over 10 years ago.

And the centre page is my Dad, he had ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukaemia) The top photo is from Mum and Dad's vow renewal, two years before he died. and the second photo... yep, thats me!

and finally the whole thing :)

The poem... well, I'm not sure where it came from, but I do know it was written by Leo Marks. Dad wasn't one for writing, but he wrote this one out. I've used Safmat (thanks Rebekah!) so I don't loose the paper and it reads:

The life that I have
Is all that I have
And the life that I have is yours.
The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours.
A sleep I shall have
A rest that I have
Yet death will be, but a pause
For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours.

Leo Marks - S.E.O Head of Agents Codes

I know this may seem a very personal post, but I wanted to share it. It's the first time I've scrapped Dad properly and this page just worked . I love it, and even better, I've used up more scraps! ^_^ Thank you Rebekah for the inspiration. :)

Home and dry

I'm home, looking forward to a well earned Easter rest. I had an AMAZING time. I've also got blogging material for a while too. I'm not going to bombard you with everything now *lol* It was great to meet so many people IRL and some fabulous women who made the weekend. So, to business. Before I went away, I said I had a couple of things to show you. My sister brought me a gorgeous mug.

My pretty kitty hiding in a box :) I LOVE it :D:D At the moment it's being used to store my Pink Paislee Glitter Stix after my "accident" last week!

Shiny, shiny, shiny :D I LOVE glittery goodness!

Anyways, Go-Go getaway..

This was my bed for the weekend. So comfyy and cosy. The hotel staff were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. On arriving in the Crop Room we were each greeted by:

Nom nom nom...
After all this, I'm only going to share the first class with you today, I'm still unpacking and sorting things out. Eileen was our tutor, had fun with UT embossing powder and pretty much assembled these two 6x12 LO's. It was a great way to show the ways different papers can be used, there's only 3 patterned papers in these but it looks like more.

It was lots of fun to do and the embossed circles are really shiny :D But on my return I discovered I need a new album to house my LO's. Over the weekend, the Go-Go design team converted me to AC D ring albums, so the order is in, I now need to await delivery and consider decoration... See you all tomorrow :D

Would be packed...

But Metro has decided to take over my suitcase!

*sighs*
She'll move for food and get straight back in!
Oh well...

I'm away at the Go-Go retreat this weekend. I've got lots to show you. New stash from Sarah's Cards and a gorgeous mug from my sister. I'll sort out photo's when I get back! Once I've shown you all the works of my weekend... Right... BEDTIME!

Two more sleeps!!!

Yes, thats right. On Friday I'm getting away Go-go style! I'm SILLY excited. I've spent the day getting my clothes and scrap stuff sorted. We'd lost the battery charger for my camera and have spent 3 days serching for the flaming thing! It's emerged though. Thank gods.

You'll all be pleased to know I've sorted out that HUGE pile of clean clothes (shame on me for leaving it so long!) and I'm all set to pack. I've even done some studying *GO ME* ^_^

In scrapping news, I've been trying to do a page of rememberance of my Dad for AGES. One of the pages in Rebekah's Birthday Blog hop seemed perfect. (Click the link to spy the gorgeous inspirational page in all it's glory!) I've not finished it, I've still got to do the inside, but I've done the front. :)

The colours are far more vibrant in real life, but since my camera battery is drinking like a fish, my mobi camera came to the rescue. True to current projectiness, everything has been kicking around in my stash for quite a while (with the exception of the Prima swirl, purchased in Jan). Now for the inside...

*lol* I'm off to feed the cat before she explodes miowing!

Something from (Almost) Nothing and Blog Hopping

Well, so much for not getting any scrapping done. After I left you all on Friday, I popped over to Rebekah's blog. I've never seen an organised blog hop. And there have been so many fabulous projects! Thank you Rebekah! :D It also gave me a sudden wave of inspiration which, ironically, links in with Shimelle's Friday challenge for Something Out of Nothing. Everything on this page has been in my stash for 5/6 months and in some cases, longer.

All the paper is from my scraps box and the alpha's caused me STRESS!

I painted them several times, didn't like ANY of the colours, peeled it off (the wonders of acrylic paint) and started again. A layer of white, pink and finally blue later I still wasn't happy. So, once dry, I took a nail file to them ^_^ rather chuffed with them.

The ribbon flower, I can't take any credit for. It's one of Shimelle's creations. I've no idea how/if I can link the tutorial video here. But I intend to ask, I just couldn't wait to post this. It's out of my box by a long way and if you hadn't guessed, I'm well chuffed with it.

I must also thank The Boy for his patience this weekend and allowing me the time to create and play. Thank you sweetheart. I love you :D

Blog Hopping with Rebekah

Don't think I'll get much done this weekend! But there is something for you all to look at. My friend Rebekah is celebrating her birthday and has organised a spectacular blog hop. It all kicks off at 7pm tonight and continues over the weekend. Have a click -----> HERE

Thursday 18 March 2010

One day I will scrap!

There appears to be no time at all this week!
I'm over that dratted cold, getting on with studies, but then it's suddenly 10pm and I need to get to bed! *sigh*
The Boy is almost here and he has a busy weekend planned...

But it's the Go-go getaway next weekent, so *touch wood*!

Tuesday 16 March 2010

So much to do!

I got home at about 6 with lots of plans.
Have I done anything..?

NO!

Oops! The evening seems to have run away completely.
My room is a state and I have a HUGE heap of clothes.

Think I may need to spend less time scrapping and more time on the 'essential' housework! (Yeah right)
So since I'm so bothered by housework and general tidiness, I'm off to bed and a bit of reading. Currently it's:

I'm a HUGE Terry Pratchett fan. Actually, I'm a huge bookworm anyway. The child that went to the library, filled four people's tickets (that was 8 books per ticket, 32 total) and returned them all (fully read I might add) before the return date!

I will eventually stop boring you all and get back to a scrap related post. Have fun!

Something a little different

I wanted to move away from scrapping today. Firstly as I've not done anything, late shifts kinda kicked that a little. Secondly, As much as I love scrapping, and reading other peoples blogs about scrapping, there is (shock horror) more to life. I got a little bored studying (actually, Etsy distracted me *lol*) so I wanted to share my 5 finds of the week.

Would You Die For Love: A gorgeous green pendant at a snip!

So sweet chocolate bunny: Whats not to love, he's gorgeous!

Sunday 14 March 2010

What a strange weekend...

First and formost, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.
I want to share a little something I made for The Boy's mother. She has a Rottwiler who is the worlds softes, biggest lapdog! I'm convinced he thinks he's a bunny!!!

Friday 12 March 2010

*Cough* *Splutter* *Bleurgh*!!!

The title says it all. I've had what I thought was a bit of a cold all week...

Been living off these things and come this morning, thought I could go it alone. BAH! Now it appears to be tonsillitis. *Sulk* So I'm off to the emergency clinic shortly to *hopefully* be supplied with antibiotics. The joy! (Note sarcasm...) So here I am feeling rather sorry for myself, like you hadn't already guessed, making you all suffer too! *Mwahahaha*

Actually, I do have something more than me whinging to blog today.

Thursday 11 March 2010

About me...

I've had this page waiting for about a month now, I ruined the photo so had to wait until my next order. So now the photo's arrived, I can finish the page! It was inspired by Sasha Farina's Nine Facts in 52 More Scrapbooking Challenges.

Something out of (almost) nothing

Those of you who are familiar with Shimelle will know she's got a class starting today,  Something from Almost Nothing. So here's my offering.

Tuesday 9 March 2010

To blogging

So, to blogging, I'm following Shimelle's scrap/blog class. I'm not good with HTML and I've just discovered Flikr is annoyingly slooowwww! Nevermind eh? I know I'll not update everyday, I'm lazy/busy like that. But my aim is to have a record of my achievements, scrapping, studying whatever. Not like a diary, I've got one for my personal stuff. I want this to be about sharing my passions with those who want to share.

Happy Birthday to me!

Yup, it's my birthday, 24 today!

Got a suprise card from the GoGo girlies :) Thank you!

And the card I got from my sister was one she originally didn't like (having offset the stamp too much for her liking). Thrilled she's made such a success of it.

Monday 8 March 2010

Hmmmm

Well, with the help of Shimelle and her blogging for scrappers class, we'll see how I go. I've always been rubbish at updating. But stranger things have happened!
